WOW, the food continues to be suburb. The is long time staple of Lake Charles morphed into one of the finest dining experiences where service matches the excellence in stellar cuisine . Great Wines available with knowledgeable staff. Along with a small corking fee, you may bring your own vino!

Great. Eaten here twice, had 12 oz steak with side and a glass of wine and got out for $30. That's about what you'd pay at some chain steakhouse/roadhouse. Here, the service is great, the atmosphere is wonderful and the food is excellent as well. Couldn't recommend it more.

Thanks to yelp, I found this great restaurant. Something about a white tablecloth appeals toe besides it looked to be the only legitimate steakhouse for many miles around. The chargrilled rib eye was tender, juicy and obviously flame kissed on their grill. The side of cheese drizzled broccoli and salad with blue cheese were also excellent. A glass of Coppola Bordeaux complemented it nicely. I think I was treated as well as any regular in the place, maybe better!

Service was good, atmosphere was very nice, but the food was not very good at all. Both my medium rare ribeye and my wife's medium new york strip were completely devoid of flavor. My wife liked her crab side and I enjoyed the baked potato, but not for $80 before the tip. I could have just as poorly prepared a steak at home and for a third of the price. Would jot recommend

The problem that we had with the restaurant is although the decor and ambience was upscale and a, "fine dining" experience, the food was not as quality and way overpriced. The cheapest thing on the menu is around 18 dollars for an entre, and 50 dollars later, our steaks were undercooked and not well flavored. Their iceberg lettuce tasted like the kind of salad you would get at just a hole-in-the wall diner. The cooks need to step up their performance, because they are charging way too much money for a mediocre meal. Thankfully, we had good service and a nice waitress who was very understanding.

Terrific lunch spot, all was just as I would expect. Was invited to lunch at this place while in town on business. We were in a bit of a rush which the waiter seemed to recognize without us having to say so. The ambiance of the place is surprisingly upscale, and the few patrons who were still there for a late lunch seemed to fit the environment, it must be a favorite among local businessmen. My host for lunch is an acquaintance of the owner who came over to greet us. I ordered a lunch menu item featuring crab cakes and stuffed shrimp and was not disappointed. The side item, chosen among a number of options, was steamed broccoli with cheese sauce, the latter of which they could have left off as it seemed to be the sort of sauce that one might get on nachos at a football game. But other than that, the meal was just fine, with a copious supply of excellent bread being brought to the table regularly. My host and dining companion ordered a rib eye steak as if it was his usual, and he appears to have gotten exactly what he ordered, wonderfully pink in the middle and a generous portion. On future trips to Lake Charles I'll surely visit again.

I've only been for a luncheon, but it didn't make me want to go back. Owner was very nice, but they need to update the decor and food quality. I don't like salads made with iceberg lettuce first of all. Theirs looks like a straight out of the bag mix. The italian dressing also seems to come from a bottle, not like a house vinegarette. Buffet items were not good at all and I saw alot of food remaing on several plates. To me a steakhouse should be using fresh ingredients and making everything from scratch.

Charming atmosphere. The shrimp cocktail was great and very reasonably priced.. The new York strip steak was excellent and cooked to perfection. I will definitely come back if my travels bring me to the area in the future.

went here for a birthday recently. service was very good. my steak was a nice size and prepared exactly as indicated. however, the sides didn't really amount to much, especially when you're paying top dollar - hence 3 stars as opposed to 4

Classy restaurant where you don't have to dress up but you wouldn't be out of place if you did. You gonna pay more for this kind of service and atmosphere. We had a waiter, food server, and drink server. They were very attentive and nice. I had a shrimp cocktail (shrimp were huge, cleaned, and chilled just right) and wife had lobster bisque. Lots of lobster in the bisque and very tasty. Wife's side salad was nothing special but adequate. I had the wedge for a small upcharge and if I had eaten it all there would be no way I could've started on the entree. My ribeye was woody and charred on the outside and slightly pink in the middle - perfect. Wife's filet was tender and cooked to perfection. We both had baked potatoes and it's been a long time since I have not had to ask for more butter. The homemade rolls were great. The wife had carrot cake for dessert and it was moist, VERY moist, and sugary and good with some kind of sauce drizzled over it. We waddled out of the restaurant with a lighter wallet but ready to pop. Serving sizes did not seem huge (except for the wedge) but it was way more than adequate. Highly recommend this place especially if you want a nice ambiance. Guys, this is a great date place. Sure to impress!

This restaurant was a delightful surprise. My friends and I were staying at L'auberge. We had already experienced the pathetically over priced Ember steakhouse , so we asked the concierge to recommend a nice fine dining restaurant. What a score this place was! The best red snapper dish I have ever had. Fabulous appetizer's such as a crawfish fritter with lemon remoulade and pepper steak on grits! The sausage and chicken gumbo was delicious and so was the poppy seed vinaigrette that came on my salad. Fantastic service, lovely atmosphere and very quaint in general. We received generous Louisianan pours of wine and enjoyed a great after dinner cafe..... I will be going back and trust me you should skip the casino dining and try this place! The owner even came to our table to check on us!
